Widely considered to be San Diego’s first microbrewery, Karl Strauss made its debut in 1989 and has since grown to 10 units in California, plus a tasting room and beer garden. Last year it went from micro to mega, opening a 12,000-square-foot brewpub in LA. It runs a rotating beer of the month and partners with local brewers for special LTO beers.
