2017 Top 500: Frozen Dessert

Dairy Queen comprises more than half of the frozen desserts menu category's sales. Despite the chain's 2.5% increase in systemwide sales, the category as a whole grew just 1.5%, to $6.3 billion. The menu segment's unit count declined by 0.7%, to 12,189. Nobody told Menchie's the boom times were over: The froyo chain increased sales by 16.5% and units by 5.1%.
