Staley Named Exec VP at Sysco-Detroit

HOUSTON - Donald W. Staley has been named executive vice president of Sysco Food Services of Detroit, LLC, the Sysco subsidiary located in Canton, MI, the largest American foodservice distributorship announced.

Staley, who is currently vice president of merchandising at that company, will assume his new role effective July 4, 2004, the beginning of firm's 2005 fiscal year.

Staley, 51, began his Sysco career in 1987 as a merchandiser for the Detroit operation. He was promoted to director of merchandising in 1990 and in 1993 he progressed to his current position. Staley is a member of Sysco's Merchandising Advisory Council. Prior to joining SYSCO he held a variety of sales and management positions in the foodservice industry for 13 years.

Staley was born in Washington, DC, and raised in Batavia, NY. He is a 1974 graduate of Duke University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and history. He and his wife, Marcy, have two sons and a daughter and reside in Canton.
