Sysco Food Services of Jamestown Employees Honored for Volunteer Work

According to Mike Moots, executive director of the United Way chapter, Sysco Food Services of Jamestown employees helped to raise more than $25,000 in the 2008 fundraising campaign. Sysco announced recently that its Jamestown location will soon close.

"Our staff and volunteers have been so proud to work with this dedicated group of employees over the years," said Moots, in a local news report. "They have consistently done a tremendous job of fundraising for United Way, including running a number of special events at Sysco. Their results are directly related to the time and effort their employee committee has contributed. Their employees have also served United Way in our allocations process, and on our board of directors. With the closing of the Sysco warehouse, we felt it was important to recognize the contributions of employees to United Way," Moot continued. "As many of them relocate, we feel as though we are losing good friends."
