Technomic: Distributors' to See Growth this Year and Next

NEW YORK - Foodservice distributors will be facing a highly-competitive marketplace next year but not one that is anticipated to stifle growth, if executives and managers monitor the execution of their strategic plans, according to Chicago-based industry researcher, Technomic, Inc.

Sales at restaurants and bars across the country will improve moderately but rising costs will mitigate the growth of profits, Technomic's analysts reported at the annual Foodservice Forecast & Outlook Seminar, sponsored last Friday by the International Foodservice Manufacturers. Foodservice distributors should experience associated growth with their operator-customers, noted Gary Karp, vice president of Technomic.
