Thoms Proestler Negotiating New Labor Contract

ROCK ISLAND, IL - Thoms Proestler Co., the local unit of Performance Food Group, Richmond, VA, said today it is negotiating a labor contract with its 224 warehouse workers and drivers, according to media reports.

"We are continuing to negotiate in good faith with the objective of reaching a mutually acceptable conclusion prior to the April 3, 2004 expiration of the current labor contract," said Tom Thoms, president of TPC. "We have enjoyed a strong, stable 40-plus year relationship with our local union. Of course, we are concerned for our associates and their families. These associates have been with our company an average of seven years and are valued members of our team."

In order to provide continuity of service to its customers, TPC has established a contingency plan, should settlement not be reached prior to Saturday. Negotiations
continue to progress and the company expressed its hope that an agreement will be reached.
