When spotlighting the top-grossing independents in the Midwest, turns out Chicago isn't the only player. While the windy city hosts an impressive seven of the Top 100 Independents, their suburban outposts also proved to be standouts, as did longtime institutions in places such as Indianapolis and Frankenmuth, Mich.
