U.S. Foodservice to Close Minnesota North Star Center

In a statement, U.S. Foodservice said most of the workers at the North Star Foodservice location will be offered jobs in other locations.

The statement, however, did say that U.S. Foodservice still plans to spend more than $100 million in capital projects that will significantly expand its operations in many locations, including the Twin Cities.

In Minnesota, the company operates another food distribution center in Plymouth. That location serves the entire gamut of U.S. Foodservice customers, from independent operators to local and national chain restaurants and health care facilities.
