U.S. Foodservice-Oklahoma Gets Military Contract

ROSEMONT, IL (Sept. 4) U.S. Foodservice’s Oklahoma City-based division has secured a contract to supply food to military installations in Oklahoma and northern Texas. The two-year Defense Department award will have the distributor providing full-line services to Air Force, Army and Navy facilities.

Because of the contract, U.S. Foodservice expects to add 16 to 20 jobs at its Oklahoma City distribution center. Positions include drivers, warehouse workers, customer service and contract management personnel.

"This is great news for our division operations in Oklahoma City,” said Sam Erwin, president of the division. “The awarding of this defense contract will mean continued sales growth, and we are fully prepared to accommodate this growth in our business, particularly with our 84,000-square-foot warehouse expansion that was completed in late 2007."
