The alliance was facilitated by the Multi Cultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (MFHA), which has recognized USF with its pinnacle award for seeking and developing relationships with minority-owned businesses.
"We were pleased that we could bring these two fine companies together," comments Gerry Fernandez, president of MFHA. "We feel that there are a number of minority-owned companies in the foodservice industry that can benefit from relationships with our supporters. U.S. Foodservice is one of our largest supporters, and we will continue to work with them to broker more of these relationships."
"We are proud to have worked with the MFHA and grateful to them for supporting our supplier diversity initiatives," says Jim Miller, USF president and ceo. "Fresh Solutions will be an important supply chain ally for our company; we are looking forward to growing our business together."
"Fresh Solutions? logistical ability to deliver fresh produce six days a week nationwide, coupled with U.S. Foodservice?s established customer base, makes this agreement a win-win for our companies and, most importantly, our customers," notes Scott Green, president and ceo of Fresh Solutions.
