The week in ideas, March 22, 2013

This week: retail in restaurants, a sky-high concept, a Sioux Falls operator with a unique aesthetic, and an idea somebody needs to take advantage of.

Idea #1: Sell more than food. It’s not a new idea, but it’s getting some new blood: combining restaurants with retail. St. Paul’s restaurant scene is seeing new takes on the idea.

Idea #2: A restaurant at 1,250 feet. Renderings of the new restaurant atop 1 World Trade Center are unveiled.

Idea #3: Show off your kills. The new restaurant in Sioux Falls, the Safari Bar and Grill, is decorated with the owners hunting exploits.

Idea #4: A Tarantino-themed restaurant. An argument for someone to open a restaurant based on the director’s movies. It does make a certain sense.
