McElroy joined McLane in 1981 as vice president of distribution and has worked his way up the ranks of the distributorship, gaining respect as one of the most knowledgeable logistic executives in the industry.
Grady Rosier, president and ceo of McLane Co., Inc., observed, "I am proud to have worked with him over the years and can say with heartfelt sincerity, 'Thank you for a job well done.' He has clearly embodied the company's beliefs and values in his daily life at McLane. His strong presence and leadership will be missed."
Youngblood's career with McLane began at the company's Western Division in Longmont, CO, in 1982 as vice president of distribution. Since then he has held leadership positions at McLane Southeast in Dothan, AL, McLane Southern in Brookhaven, MS, and McLane Mid Atlantic in Falmouth, VA. He served as a director in the Logistics Department at the McLane Company Home Office, and held the position of regional vice president, Atlantic Region, for McLane Grocery Distribution from 1997 to 2000.
Most recently, Youngblood has served as the president of McLane Foodservice Distribution since its acquisition in December 2000. During the past five years, McLane Foodservice has flourished by achieving its financial objectives, providing great customer service, and developing a strong team-oriented environment, according to the company.
Rosier said of Youngblood, "I am confident that Mike will bring the same strong work ethic, vision and leadership to the Grocery Distribution business unit."
The distributorship expects to announce a new president for the Foodservice Distribution business in the near future.
