McDonald’s gets some early results from its loyalty program

MyMcDonald’s Rewards is already one of the industry’s biggest programs as the company takes steps to know more of its customers.

The fast casual said its average hourly pay will now be $14, a 15% increase for most employees, as it continues a major hiring push.

The owner of KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Habit accelerated development in the third quarter and said it has a shot at breaking an industry record for new openings this year.

Starting Dec. 28, the 80/20 rule is back in effect, along with a 30-minute limit on credit-qualifying side work.

Operators have lost both business and staff because of the requirement, according to an industry association.

The measure would have required employers to provide employees with up to four weeks of paid leave for dealing with extraordinary family situations.

The chain raised menu prices 4.2% as commodity inflation hit 14% in the third quarter, driven largely by beef.

Restaurants see them as a way to serve fresh meals just about anywhere, and some are using them to scale up fast.

The burger giant says it draws more traffic to third-party apps and should pay a lower rate as a result.
