Starbucks has launched yet another Instagram-ready Frappuccino, just in time for Halloween.
The latest Technicolor concoction, Witch’s Brew, features purple-colored, orange cream-flavored Frappuccino with green chia seeds, vanilla whipped cream and a dusting of green powder.
The blended beverage went on sale Thursday and is available for an unspecified limited time.
Starbucks, where Frappuccino sales have tumbled in recent months, calls the beverage a blend of “toad’s breath,” “bat warts” and “lizard scale.”
“We wanted to create a flavor that you might enjoy at a Halloween party,” Jennica Robinson, a member of Starbucks’ beverage development team, said in a statement. “It gets a little bit of juicy-ness from the orange flavor.”
Starbucks has offered a limited-time, Halloween-themed Frappuccino since 2014, including the Franken Frappuccino, the Frappula Frappuccino and the Zombie Frappuccino. After hitting on a viral sensation with its color-changing Unicorn Frappuccino, Starbucks has tinkered with its blended beverage program by adding plant-based LTO options and an eye-catching Crystal Ball variation.
In 2015, Frappuccino sales grew 17% year over year. By May of this year, sales of the drinks had declined 3% over the previous year.
Earlier this year, slumping Frappuccino sales prompted the coffee giant to reimagine its Happy Hour program, backing away from discounts on the slushy drinks and instead providing a range of weekly special offers.
