Brinker International acquires Chili’s franchisee in $106.5M deal

Brinker International (NYSE: EAT) announced Thursday the purchase of 103 franchised Chili’s Grill and Bar restaurants for $106.5 million.

The Dallas company, which also owns Chili’s and Maggiano’s Little Italy, acquired the locations from Pepper Dining Holding Corp. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Pepper operates Chili’s restaurants in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic U.S.

"We plan to leverage our strong Chili's operations infrastructure, roll out the brand's new loyalty program to all restaurants and complete re-imaging of the portfolio,” Brinker President and CEO Wyman Roberts said in a news release. “More broadly, Brinker remains committed to our other franchise partners and looks forward to continuing to support their growth and expansion."
