Chick-fil-A tests broccolini, baked potatoes, BBQ

Kale, baked potatoes, barbecue sandwiches — local Chick-fil-A restaurants are getting menu makeovers, at least temporarily.

Starting this week Southwest Florida is one of six markets in the U.S. where diners can taste test three potential new menu items from this national chicken chain: the Superfood Salad, Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich, and a loaded baked potato side dish.

The trial items will be available through July. Customers will help determine whether the dishes are added to menus at Chick-fil-A's 1,900-plus restaurants across the country.
