LSRs: The Food Comes First

takeout food boxes

Diners take many things into consideration when selecting a restaurant. The most important tend to be food quality, taste, cleanliness and order accuracy, but “quality of food when ordered for takeout” ranks No. 8 among the top 10 attributes at LSRs. Heavy users and millennials (often one and the same) are even more likely to say the quality of takeout food is very important in their LSR selection.

Percentage of consumers who say each attribute is very important in deciding which limited-service restaurant to visit:

  • 47%—Quality of food when ordered for takeout
  • 28%—Overall takeout capabilities
  • 25%—Quality of takeout packaging
  • 13%—Provides online/mobile ordering
