WARRENVILLE, IL (Aug. 26) Cook’s Direct (www.cooksdirect.com), an online retailer of restaurant equipment and supplies, has announced a special buying program for school cafeterias that vies for new funds made available through the Obama administration’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The company points out that the government stimulus plan has made an allocation of $100 million toward the exclusive purchase of foodservice equipment and supplies for school cafeterias participating in the National School Lunch Program. The funding enables foodservice directors to replace existing equipment or to acquire new equipment. In close coordination with this funding opportunity, U.S. restaurant equipment and foodservice equipment manufacturers have launched special promotions for schools, in which Cook’s Direct is actively participating, according to a company press release.
“Washington’s decision to include food preparation equipment in the landmark recovery and stimulus package will surely go a long way in not only benefiting child nutrition programs across the country, but also save and create numerous employment opportunities in the foodservice equipment manufacturing sector,” commented Jeff Breeden, COO of cooksdirect.com.
