Drink up: Beverages play an important role

Drink up, my fine friends. Beverages play an important role in our everyday lives.Besides the obvious importance of hydrating our bodies, the drink is a social gathering tool. Whether sharing an ice cream soda, toasting a new bride and groom with champagne, celebrating a promotion with a fine vintage, or meeting friends for coffee, the drink provides the social background. By serving a variety of dayparts and pouring the appropriate beverages, you can provide the parched masses with a place to gather or just quench that thirst. Coffee or juice is a morning necessity; lunchtime calls for an ice tea or soda; a bottle of wine is ideal with dinner; and don't forget the coffee, espresso, and liqueurs for a finishing touch. No matter what beverages you serve, customers will be saying, "bottoms up."
