The parent of the Huckleberry’s Breakfast and Lunch chain has added a homegrown new venture to its portfolio, a fast-casual Tex-Mex operation called Press Quesadilla Grill.
In addition to quesadillas, listed on the menu as ‘dias, the new brand features burritos, bowls and salads, according to owner Heritage Restaurant Brands. The word “Press” in the title refers to the freshly pressed tortillas used in many of the items.
Selections include Flame Grilled Skirt Steak Salad, a Braised Pulled Pork Burrito and a Chili-Lime Shrimp Bowl.
Heritage describes the food as “chef-inspired Cali-cuisine.” All items are customized to the guest’s specifications.
The venture is the fourth venture in Heritage’s fold. In addition to Huckleberry’s, the company franchises Cool Hand Luke’s Steakhouse and Perko’s Café Grill. With 35 units, Huckleberry’s is the largest operation by far.
Press Quesadilla is the first concept within the group to have been developed in-house. Like its older sisters, the startup will be franchised, and a portion of royalties will be channeled to charities and needy parties within the market it serves.
The prototype opened Monday in San Luis Obispo, California.
Heritage was founded in 2016 by Greg Graber, who started in the restaurant business more than 30 years ago as a server.
