The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has named former Johnny Rockets executive Lacy Novell Morris vice president of information technology, the cafe chain announced Monday.

Morris, who held the same title at Johnny Rockets, will oversee the company’s IT infrastructure as well as strategy for restaurant operations and customer experience, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf said.

"We are thrilled to welcome Lacy to our executive team," said CEO John Fuller, who earlier this year also joined the cafe chain from Johnny Rockets. "His expertise will add to our continued growth as we build towards technological advantages both internally and for our guests."

Prior to his time at Johnny Rockets, Morris spent eight years at Rubio’s Restaurants, serving in multiple capacities.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which operates more than 1,000 locations globally, earlier this year closed a deal to open 700 units in China.
