OneRyan Global said on Wednesday that it has acquired a controlling interest in the Fort Worth, Texas-based pizza buffet chain Mr. Gatti’s Pizza. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

OneRyan is a family investment office of Brint Ryan, the chairman and CEO of Ryan LLC, a consulting firm that advises companies on tax issues. It is an existing operator of Mr. Gatti’s franchised locations.

Ryan will serve as chairman of Mr. Gatti’s, while Amanda Ryan will become vice chairwoman of the company’s board of managers.

OneRyan had previously acquired a corporate Mr. Gatti’s location in Austin, Texas, in October, which completed the chain’s transition into a fully franchised system.

Mr. Gatti’s is a chain of pizza buffet restaurants with large arcades. The company finished 2024 with 89 restaurants, which are concentrated in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana.

Mr. Gatti's Pizza finished 2024 with 89 locations.

System sales in 2024 increased 14.8% to $129 million, according to data from Restaurant Business sister company Technomic. A typical location generates about $1.6 million in sales annually.

OneRyan said that the Mr. Gatti’s leadership team will remain in place following the sale. Jim Phillips will remain CEO and KC Mann CFO.

Amanda Ryan said that the family’s experience operating Mr. Gatti’s locations across multiple markets “made this acquisition a natural and exciting opportunity.”

“Mr. Gatti’s has built a category-leading platform in dining and family entertainment, supported by an exceptional network of franchisees,” she said.

OneRyan will get a brand with a deep history in Texas. The chain was founded as The Pizza Place in Stephenville, Texas, in 1964. It later moved to Austin and changed its name to Gatti, the name of founder James Eure’s wife.

Phillips called Brint Ryan “an exceptional leader with enormous respect for the heritage of Mr. Gatti’s,” and said he “brings a compelling vision for the brand’s future, along with the expertise needed to help us reach our full potential.”
