Scooter’s Coffee agrees to acquire 8-unit chain

Under the deal, Scooter’s would acquire Omaha, Neb.-based Crane Coffee.

Scooter’s Coffee, a 230-unit chain, plans to acquire the small Crane Coffee chain, the companies announced Friday.

The transaction was still being finalized, according to a press release, and details were not disclosed.

“Scooter’s Coffee is a great match, they’re in the same business and we share common core values and commitment to quality. Once the deal is completed, it will make for an easy transition for our employees,” Crane Coffee owner Keith Graeve said in a statement.

Crane Coffee was founded in 1991 and currently has eight units in Omaha, Neb.

Scooter’s Coffee, which is also based in Omaha, was founded in 1998, and operates more than 230 locations in 15 states.

“As Scooter’s Coffee continues to expand, we look for great opportunities to bring in brands that are the quality of Crane Coffee,” COO Mike Rogers said in a statement.
