Taco Mac changes hands

The Buffalo wing chain was purchased by several partners of investment group Fresh Hospitality.

Casual-dining chain Taco Mac is under new ownership.

The beer and Buffalo wings concept, previously owned by Dallas-based private-equity firm CIC Partners, was purchased by several partners of the Atlanta-based investment group Fresh Hospitality. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Taco Mac will be led by Harold Martin Jr., one of the investors. Martin takes over for Greg Lippert, who had held the top spot since 2016. The 27-unit chain, with locations in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina, will remain headquartered in Atlanta.

“Customer engagement is something we are aiming to enhance because we want guests to truly identify with their neighborhood Taco Mac,” Martin said in a statement. “We will work with staff to ensure that the quality of the dining experience remains consistent across the board while retaining the unique character of each neighborhood restaurant.”

Fresh Hospitality has a large portfolio of emerging restaurant brands, including Biscuit Love, The Grilled Cheeserie, Big Bad Breakfast and Little Donkey.
