Five Amphire Exchange distributor participants to "go live" with purchases in August

JULY 23, 2001--Amphire Solutions, Inc., Boise, Idaho, has announced that a large number of distributors are set to go live on Amphire Exchange this August.
"Achieving distributor and supplier participation in the Amphire Exchange is a major milestone toward Amphire?s vision of complete supply chain integration," notes Mark Barnekow, Amphire Solutions president and ceo.

Five major foodservice distributors representing more than $10.5 billion in anual food purchases will order electronically through suppliers as of August, and two are already fully utilizing the exchange, he adds.

In addition to other distributors, Gordon Food Service, The IJ Company, MBM Corporation, Shamrock Foods Company and Reinhart FoodService will use Amphire Exchange to order from suppliers. In addition, Mid-America, a leading Foresight-member broadliner, is being integrated into Amphire Exchange.

Distributors will be able to receive purchase order confirmations, advanced ship notices and invoices from suppliers. Amphire Exchange also matches prices and identifies exceptions and discrepancies to avoid pricing and order processing errors. Advanced reporting, broker visibility through the Broker Community, electronic funds transfer and contract administration are already part of Amphire?s development activity and will become available starting in August.
