With spring in the air and baseball season inching closer, foodservice vendors are building buzz for the new offerings they’ll show off at stadiums around the country this summer. Here are some of the more unique items being debuted by ballpark foodservice operators Aramark and Levy.
Making its debut at Rogers Centre in Toronto, this item is part of Aramark’s lineup of eight new Topped Tots varieties. Giving a nod to Canada, the dish tops tater tots with maple baked beans, cheddar cheese, bacon, pulled pork and sour cream.
Also at Rogers Centre, this salad (true to its name) contains 32 meatless ingredients, including kale, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, white and red quinoa, carrots and pomegranate seeds.
Being served at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, this salad contains chopped hearts of palm, red quinoa, blueberries, spinach, carrots, sunflower seeds and a balsamic dressing.
Debuting at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, this spin on a ballpark classic features sausage stuffed with pineapple and garnished with cilantro-lime crema and pineapple salsa.
Showing up at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, these vegan wraps are made with curried cauliflower, fried chickpeas and coconut milk.
This dish, another that can be found at Rogers Centre, puts a meatless spin on a Southwest bowl, featuring chickpeas, roasted squash, fried tortilla strips, black beans, quinoa, cotija cheese, guacamole and a poblano dressing.
Though not a brand-new item, Chicago’s Wrigley Field will offer this reimagined version of the classic Chicago dog, topping brined chicken thighs with sport peppers, tomatoes, dill aioli and celery salt, served on an onion roll.
The offering at PNC Park puts a spin on typical ballpark fare, serving up pierogi, kielbasa sausage, sauerkraut, Russian dressing and Swiss cheese in a waffle cone
Dodger Stadium’s take on elotes features grilled corn topped with cotija cheese, mayonnaise and chipotle aioli, served in a mini souvenir helmet.
This dessert debuting at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y., combines churros, dulce de leche, salted caramel banana ice cream and Oreo crumbles.
This sweet snack also appearing at Citi Field features challah French toast crusted with graham crackers and filled with a Nutella, marshmallow and chocolate swirl. It’s also topped with toasted marshmallow and maple de leche syrup.
These emerging chains are the growth vehicles to watch—the ones poised to be major industry players in the coming years.
