Burger King introduces spicy chicken nuggets

Making a play for fans of Wendy’s now-scrapped spicy chicken nuggets, Burger King has added its own spicy nuggets to the menu for a limited time.

“We know there is an appetite for spicy chicken nuggets, our competitors have launched similar products in the past, and fans will be excited for this delicious product at Burger King restaurants,” Alex Macedo, president of the chain’s North America division, said in a statement.

To jumpstart the item’s debut, Burger King customers named Wendy will be eligible for a free order of the new nuggets on the afternoon of Oct. 13, so long as they visit a select restaurant in Miami, Los Angeles or New York City.

A 10-piece order of the spicy nuggets sells for $1.49.

Burger King is the third QSR chain in the last two weeks to introduce a new sort of chicken nugget. Wendy's debuted a revamped version of its chicken tenders, while McDonald's launched its Buttermilk Crispy Tenders
