Chipotle features favorites of 5 American athletes in new limited-time menu

The athletes also star in the chain’s latest “Unwrapped” video series. Plus, Chipotle is serving gold foil-wrapped burritos starting July 25 to kick off the Summer Olympics.

Chipotle Mexican Grill’s new limited-time menu features the favorite digital orders of five top American athletes.

As part of its Real Food for Real Athletes program, customers can eat like basketball great Anthony Edwards, volleyball player Sara Hughes, tennis pro Taylor Fritz, soccer star Sophia Smith and skateboarder Jagger Eaton. All five also share their training regimens on new episodes of Chipotle’s “Unwrapped” video series.

“Every one of our Team Chipotle 2024 athletes has had a unique journey," said Chris Brandt, chief brand officer at Chipotle, in a statement. "By highlighting their stories and how Chipotle has been a key component of their training regimens, we hope to inspire and fuel the next generation of great American athletes.”

The athletes go-to orders can be purchased on the Chipotle app or through the website:

The Anthony Edwards Bowl: Half chicken, half steak, brown rice, fresh tomato salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa and lettuce.

The Sara Hughes Burrito: Double steak, white rice, black beans, cheese and lettuce.

The Taylor Fritz Bowl: Double chicken, white rice, sour cream, cheese and guac.

The Sophia Smith Burrito: Chicken, brown rice, light black beans, light pinto beans, fresh tomato salsa, tomatillo-red chili salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, sour cream and cheese.

The Jagger Eaton Burrito: Chicken, white rice, black beans, tomatillo-red chili salsa, roasted chili-corn salsa, cheese, guac and lettuce.

To honor the Summer Olympics, Chipotle will sell burritos wrapped in gold foil at locations in the U.S., Paris and Lyon, France. 

To kick off the Summer Olympics, the Newport Beach, California-based chain will serve gold foil-wrapped burritos for all in-restaurant and digital orders at participating U.S. locations. For the first time, Chipotle will also wrap burritos in gold foil at its six restaurants in  Paris and one restaurant in Lyon. The brand last celebrated American athletes with gold foil during the 2021 Summer Games.

Chipotle worked with the five athletes to create the training content for the “Unwrapped” series. The videos, currently posted on Instagram, reveal their challenges, eating styles and inspirational stories. In the past, the brand has partnered with players from the U.S Women’s Soccer Team and the National Hockey League as well as Olympians.
