4. Unique flavors are emerging
Ingredients such as avocado, chipotle, chili, and goat and gorgonzola cheeses are now mainstream on pizza, according to Technomic’s Flavor Lifecycle tracking. More unique toppings are emerging, including pear, peanut, dill and lemon. In fact, 43% of 18- to 34-year-olds are more interested in trying pizza with unique toppings or ingredients than they were two years ago.
