President Trump has signed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act into law.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act includes the Pandemic EBT Act that was introduced in the House by U.S. Reps. Marcia Fudge and Bobby Scott last week.

The new law will provide additional funding for food assistance programs such as the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program and the Emergency Food Assistance Program.

States will also now have the option to apply for a waiver to extend Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to those who have children attending schools that are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
