Fuddruckers airs $19.99 promo, reservations required

The Fuddruckers fast-casual burger chain is aiming for sinners who want one more reason to repent this Lenten season: a three-pound burger served with a pound of fries, unlimited soda and a dare. Eat the whole thing in less than an hour and the $19.99 meal is free.

Plus, patrons who win the challenge are presented with coupons for two free entrees at a later date and a T-shirt.

The offer is limited to next Tuesday, Feb. 9, also known as Fat Tuesday among Mardi Gras celebrants, and comes with some fine print. Patrons who want to take the 3-Pound Burger Challenge have to make a reservation for their attempt at least 24 hours in advance.

Fat Tuesday is the last chance for indulgences before Lent, the traditional Christian period of atonement and sacrifice, begins the next day, or on Ash Wednesday.

The 3-Pound Burger Challenge is an annual event for Fuddruckers.
