Guthrie's Chicken was founded in Hayleyville, Alabama, in 1965 but in 1982 opened a chicken finger-only location in Auburn. It kicked off a national expansion plan four years ago and has made it on the ranking of some of the fastest-growing chains in the U.S. Guthrie's generated $37 million in system sales last year, up 23%, and now has over 50 restaurants.
