Mr. Pickle's was founded in 1995 in the Bay Area by Frank and Michele Fagundes as a premier full-service sandwich shop. They grew the brand to 56 locations across Northern California, and then sold to Michael Nelson, a veteran of the restaurant franchise world, who is taking it to a next stage of growth as an all-franchised brand. With 64 units across California and Arizona, Mr. Pickle's is known for offering Dutch Crunch bread, a French roll topped with rice flour to give it a crackly crunch.
