Andrew Pudalov founded Rush Bowls 20 years ago in Boulder, Colorado, growing it slowly and steadily to reach 52 locations in 2023. Rush Bowls pioneered the category of smoothie bowls, said Pudalov, and although the field is crowded with competitors now, he believes the brand stands out for its approach to health and wellness. All the ingredients are whole and unadulterated. "We use fresh fruits and vegetable bases, organic granola, honey and other simple toppings--no sorbets, sherbets or yogurt, and nothing with stabilizers," he said."We also grind our own peanut butter in-house and make our own Rush Bites from scratch, which are mix of peanut, butter, oats, chocolate chips and a touch of honey. They are big sellers in our stores." Also popular are the BowWow bowls for dogs. Pudalov, who also holds the title of CEO, started franchising the chain in 2016, and Rush Bowls now has locations in 23 states.
