At this fast-casual Mediterranean concept, the gyro is the hero, along with souvlaki plates and rice bowls featuring a choice of lamb, steak, chicken or shrimp and the classic Greek salad. Plus, baklava ice cream for dessert. It was originally founded in Henderson, Nevada, in 2011 by a Greek-Armenian family. But the restaurant was acquired by Nick Della Penna and Trent Jones in 2016. The two turned the restaurant into a scalable concept, and it took off, becoming one of the fastest-growing franchise brands. The Great Greek is part of Big Flavor Brands (along with Graze Craze), a division of United Franchise Group.
