As a fast-casual pizza concept, Singas Famous Pizza offers more menu variety than its competitors. The 35-unit chain is known for personal-size pizzas with crispy crusts and bold toppings, but customers can round that out with chicken wings, salads, pastas and fries. The restaurant was founded by Bill Singas and his wife in the '60s, then in the 1970s, it was purchased by Greg Tsanis, a longtime employee, and his brother Chris. In 2004 they began franchising, and Singas Famous Pizza has now expanded beyond its New York City origins to Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida and North Carolina.
