Back in 2008, the only way New Yorkers could score a Van Leeuwen Ice Cream cone was to wait for the branded truck to roll into their neighborhood. Seventeen years and 74 brick-and-mortar shops later, fans as far away as California, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia and Texas can lick a cone of this superpremium artisan ice cream, with co-founder Ben Van Leeuwen still overseeing the small-batch production in Brooklyn. Opening soon are locations in Chicago, Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta.
