Here are the latest executive shifts in the restaurant industry:

Christopher Dawson, 7 Brew

Christopher Dawson is the new president of fast-growing drive-thru coffee concept 7 Brew. Dawson, who served previously as CEO of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, will report to 7 Brew CEO John Davidson. Dawson has also served as a multi-brand president for Driven Brands, leading the Paint and Collison segments, and previous stints include Denny’s and CiCis Pizza.

Maggiano’s Little Italy hired chef Anthony Amoroso as its first VP of innovation and growth. The Michelin-starred chef was previously VP of food and beverage development at MGM Resorts. Maggiano’s is in the midst of upgrading its menu, and Amoroso was behind eight new items unveiled on Thursday, including three new pastas and a veal Parmesan. “I am honored to be joining the Maggiano's team to help shape this next era of the brand, building upon its rich heritage and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences," Amoroso said in a statement.

 

Dan Hurwitz, Smalls Sliders

Dan Hurwitz has been named CFO of Smalls Sliders and is tasked with supporting investment decisions to drive growth for the brand. Hurwitz most recently was CFO of Philz Coffee, but his background includes time leading finance at Gamestop, Kids2, Restoration Hardware, MGM Resorts International and Abercrombie & Fitch.

Christian Welch is the new executive chef for The Pembroke in The Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington, D.C. A winner of the Pâté-Croûte North American Championship in 2019, he has worked at The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Watergate Hotel.

Artistry Restaurants has named Jason Brooks to the role of chief operating officer. The Winter Park, Florida-based multi-concept group has five brands, including Boca Kitchen, Shrimp Basket, Oak & Stone Craft Beer & Artisan Pizza, Atlantic Beer and Oyster Co. and Sandbar Amelia Island. A sixth brand is expected to launch this year. Brooks spent 25 years previously with Bloomin’ Brands, where he worked with Outback Steakhouse, as well as Bonefish Grill and Carrabba’s. Before that, he was VP of operations for Uncle Julio’s Restaurant Group.
