Pacific Northwest-based multi-concept operator Anthony’s Restaurants has promoted Amy Burns to co-president, the company announced Wednesday.
Anthony’s runs 23 restaurants in Washington, Idaho and Oregon, including quick-service spots and casual-dining restaurants, all of which focus on fresh seafood.
Burns joined the operator in 2016, after a 25-year career in human relations at Microsoft. She will share duties with her brother, Herb Gould, who has “been a key leader in the company for several decades,” the company said in a statement.
Burns will lead human resources, marketing and operations for Anthony’s.
“I’m confident Amy’s and Herb’s shared skills will grow the business intelligently, seeking the right opportunities,” Anthony’s Founder Budd Gould said in a statement.
Budd opened the first of Anthony’s restaurants, a steak-and-lobster house, in 1969. In 1984, the company opened a wholesale seafood business in Seattle to provide products for its restaurants and elsewhere.
Burns started in the family business, working at Anthony’s HomePort in Kirkland, Wash. She joined the board in 2001. She helped launch a food truck and opened Anthony’s latest restaurant in Boise.
“I am looking forward to teaming with Amy as together we will continue the company’s drive to provide growth, opportunity and quality,” Herb Gould said in a statement. “We are lucky to have her.”
