First off, it is long past time I say this: Thank you to all the readers who have made Restaurant Business what it is. You read our stories more than 24 million times over the past year, which is remarkable. It’s that level of support that keeps pushing us to do our best every day.

Over the next few months, we at Restaurant Business plan to make a few changes we believe will make the publication better. It starts today, as we shift our primary newsletter, Restaurant Business Daily, to the mornings.

We will begin sending Restaurant Business Daily at 10 a.m. EDT on Monday, shifting from the afternoon. That will give you the full day to digest the industry news—though we will avoid the crowd of newsletters that hit so many inboxes early in the mornings.

It won’t be the only change that we make. Over the coming months we are planning to make additional changes that will provide you with an enhanced level of coverage and insights from our excellent editorial staff.

This staff includes Editor-at-Large Peter Romeo, who covers government and casual dining, Senior Editor Heather Lalley, who covers independents and emerging chains, Senior Editor Patricia Cobe, who writes about menu news, and Senior Editor Joe Guszkowski, who has taken the technology beat and run with it. We also have excellent people behind the scenes. Here are two: Creative Director Sara Stewart, who does awesome designs like this, and Web Producer Luke Domask, who helps us get everything where it needs to go.

This group has given you the best coverage on the restaurant industry you will find, with pieces such as our in-depth look at the one-year anniversary of the pandemic. I strongly recommend you read that package.

We will continue to offer you the best of breaking industry news, in-depth feature pieces and more long-form journalism, all on the topics that matter to you the most.

You can find a selection of excellent newsletters that concentrate on your specific area of interest, including finance, menu news, quick-service restaurants and technology. Subscribe to any or all of these newsletters here.

We will also continue to bring you the best group of restaurant industry-focused podcasts you will fine anywhere, including my own finance podcast “A Deeper Dive,” Pat’s excellent “Menu Feed” podcast, Heather’s emerging chain podcast “Buzzworthy Brands,” and the daily news-focused RB Daily. You can also find any of these podcasts on your Amazon Echo device.

Once again, thank you for all of your support over the past 13 months. And we promise to give you more of what you want and need from Restaurant Business.
