Focus Brands, the owner of several quick-service and snack concepts including Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, on Thursday named Tim Voss its new chief technology officer.

The move comes as the company is pushing more technology, focusing on new point-of-sale systems, customer loyalty programs and other efforts. Voss will oversee all digital technology at the company, which also owns Carvel, Jamba, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Schlotzsky’s.

“Focus Brands is undergoing a major transformation in the digital and technology space, so it is critical to have a strong leader to help drive change across the business,” Jim Holthouser, Focus Brands’ CEO, said in a statement.

Voss comes to the Atlanta-based company from Gem Shopping Network, where he was the chief technology officer. He has also consulted with numerous recognizable brands including Citigroup, Reuters and Wyndham Worldwide. He also serves on advisory boards of several large companies including Cisco, Symantec, Lenovo and HCL.
