A former Church’s Texas Chicken executive has been named CEO of the fast-casual Fuku chain, the company said Friday.
Claudia Lezcano will lead the 14-unit chicken sandwich chain through its next chapter of growth, said Matt Higgins, co-founder and CEO of RSE Ventures, parent company of Fuku, which was created by chef David Chang in 2015. RSE’s portfolio also includes Chang’s Momofuku brand and Bluestone Lane, Magnolia Bakery, Milk Bar and &Pizza.

“I have known Claudia throughout my career and admire her tremendous work ethic, brilliant marketing vision and positive attitude while facing the toughest of challenges,” said Higgins in a statement. “Claudia is one of those dynamic executives who understands that the success of a restaurant brand starts with operational excellence and delivering on the promises you make to your customers and broader communities.”
Lezcano served most recently as senior vice president of U.S. marketing for Church’s. Before that, she held top marketing positions at Celebrity Cruises, the NFL’s Miami Dolphins and the MLB’s Miami Marlins. She also worked for eight years with Burger King Corp., where she led strategy and marketing communications.
She replaces former CEO Alex Munoz-Suarez in the role.
