The chief financial officer of fast-casual chain Freshii has resigned, the company announced Monday.

Craig De Pratto will leave the Toronto-based chain next month “to pursue another opportunity,” according to a news release.

De Pratto joined the health-focused chain in 2014 and was with the company in 2017 when it launched its initial public offering in Canada.

Freshii has struggled recently. Same-store sales fell 6.1% in Q4 last year, and the chain has closed multiple units.

"Craig has been an integral part of the Freshii growth story and will continue to be a good friend of the company and our management team," Matthew Corrin, founder and CEO, said in a statement.

Freshii, which opened in 2005, now has 439 stores in 16 countries.
