Kat Cole, former COO and president of Focus Brands, has joined the board of directors of Slice, a tech platform focused on pizzerias.

Cole brings a wealth of experience to the fast-growing company, having spent a decade with Focus, the parent company of Cinnabon, Auntie Anne’s and other chains. She began as president of Cinnabon and rose to COO and president of Focus, a role she held for four years before announcing her departure in December.

She will help guide Slice toward its goal of reaching $1 billion in gross merchandise volume this year. The company provides technology for pizzerias and also has a consumer-facing marketplace. It aims to be a complete digital solution for its partners, helping with things like online ordering, digital marketing and delivery logistics. It works with more than 14,000 pizzerias across 3,000 cities in all 50 states.

“We are so pleased to have Kat join the Slice board. Her significant experience growing companies will undoubtedly help Slice achieve our long-term business objectives,” said Ilir Sela, founder and CEO of Slice, in a statement.
