Rapidly expanding eatertainment concept Punch Bowl Social added its first chief culinary and beverage officer to its C-suite on Wednesday.

Sheamus Feeley, who has held executive-level positions with the Hillstone Restaurant Group and BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, among others, will lead culinary innovation for the brand and will oversee its culinary operations. Feeley will work with the chain’s beverage director to manage expansion of the craft beverage program.

"We never stop evolving and changing—having Sheamus on our leadership team enables the company to continue to aggressively develop and continuously improve our culinary and beverage programs during this exciting time for our growing company,” Punch Bowl Social CEO Robert Thompson said in a statement.

Hugh Acheson, who owns and operates multiple restaurants in Georgia and appears as a “Top Chef” judge, had served as a culinary partner for Punch Bowl Social. Given his other commitments, Acheson was not able to keep up with the chain’s pace of growth, the company said.

Punch Bowl Social, known for its large-footprint units packed with interactive games, opened its first location in Denver in 2012. It now runs 14 operations around the country and plans to open eight more units before the end of 2019. The chain announced this week that it had secured another $20 million in financing to fuel its expansion.
