The U.S. restaurant industry is an increasingly global business. And it’s time that we have an award that recognizes it as such.

We at Restaurant Business will be awarding one global operator or top industry executive with the Global Restaurant Leader of the Year award.

The award will be presented at the Global Restaurant Leadership Conference in Barcelona on Nov. 18.

The honor will be awarded based on several key metrics, including expansion, community service, innovation and partnership.

It is open to global brand operators outside the U.S., or a C-suite leader of a Technomic Top 150 global restaurant brand. The brand must have more than 500 units globally and operate in three countries or more.
