Potbelly Corp. on Monday named Thomas Fitzgerald the company’s new chief financial officer.

The Chicago-based sandwich chain also named Julie Younglove-Webb its new chief restaurant operations officer.

Fitzgerald replaces Michael Coyne, who resigned as CFO in September. Fitzgerald had been the president and CFO of the retailer Charming Charlie and before that had worked with other retailers such as Sears Canada, Burlington Coat Factory and Bath & Body Works.

Alan Johnson, CEO of Potbelly, said that Fitzgerald “brings extensive planning and operations experience” to the job “and has a proven track record of transformational leadership.”

Younglove-Webb has led Potbelly’s day-to-day restaurant operations as senior vice president, operations, a role she has had since 2015. She has worked with Potbelly since 2008, starting as a general manager and then as a district manager and then the central zone manager.

Potbelly has more than 400 company-operated shops and franchises another 50 restaurants.
