True Food Kitchen nabs former Shake Shack exec for human resources post

True Food Kitchen has appointed a former Shake Shack human resources executive as chief people officer, the health-focused chain announced Thursday.

Peggy Rubenzer will lead True Food Kitchen’s human resources and training efforts as the brand seeks to recruit and retain employees as its grows­.

Rubenzer served as senior vice president of people resources for Shake Shack for the past eight years and also held leadership posts with P.F. Chang’s and Southwest Airlines.

"Peggy's expertise leading growth companies with great culture will help us continue to push True Food Kitchen forward and advance our goal of being one of the industry's best places to work," True Food Kitchen CEO Christine Barone said in a statement. "Her impressive background of driving organizational change and leading restaurant brands through hypergrowth make her exactly the right people leader to help scale and fulfill our mission to bring delicious, healthy food to more people."

In March, the growth-focused, 26-unit chain appointed its first chief marketing officer.
