True Food Kitchen this week promoted Shannon Keller to the newly created position of chief marketing officer.
Keller had been vice president of marketing for the fast-growing Phoenix-based chain. She will oversee brand strategy and communications, influencer marketing and creative teams.
She will work with CEO Christine Barone and COO James Liakakos to support the company’s overall growth.
Keller joined the company in 2015 and has focused on customer experience and strategic and brand initiatives, including the recent launch of True Food’s online ordering experience.
“Shannon’s wealth of experience in building great brands will be an asset to True Food as we continue to expand our footprint nationally,” Barone said in a statement.
Keller has 20 years of consumer marketing and communications experience. She had worked with the Artigue Agency in Phoenix, where she managed strategic marketing initiatives for Fairmont Hotels, Waste Management, Phoenix Suns Charities, Cirque du Soliel, and Taste of the NFL, among others.
She takes the CMO role at a company with 26 locations that was founded as a lifestyle brand, with a menu guided by the principles of Dr. Andrew Weil.
“True Food is a purpose-led company with the mission and values needed to become a truly meaningful, iconic brand,” Keller said in a statement.
She is the latest in a series of management hires at the brand following the 2016 hiring of former Starbucks executive Barone. The company also brought in Allison Schulder from P.F. Chang’s to be CFO, as well as Liakakos.
