LYFE Kitchen joins the order-ahead fray

As a flurry of chains scramble to debut their own iterations of remote ordering, LYFE Kitchen is also throwing its hat into the ring.

The health-focused fast casual said it will this month release a new app with order-ahead capabilities. The app also enables customers to track and redeem loyalty points, and features original branded blog posts and other content.

"We know our guests like to stay current with emerging trends and technology, and they expect the same from their favorite brands," Chance Carlisle, CEO of LYFE Kitchen, said in a statement. "With this in mind, we are making long-term technological investments to provide that expected user experience."

The chain is also testing mobile payment with Apple Pay in select markets.

LYFE Kitchen’s debut adds to the deluge of tech announcements that has emerged from major chains in recent weeks. Chick-fil-A and Dunkin’ Donuts rolled out their own order ahead-savvy apps earlier this month, and last week, Subway announced that it planned to build a whole new division centered on digital initiatives.
